Annual District Awards Night 2019

Date: 28th Mar 2019 Author: Deborah Dumville

This February the district held an awards evening for all of the youth members who had gained their chief scouts awards across all sections.

Spencer and Jai received their Bronze Chief Scout Award – well done boys!

Oliver and Nathan gained their Gold Chief Scout Award – the first scouts in over 30 years at XRE to gain these awards. A huge congratulations goes out to them!

As well as youth members gaining awards this is a chance to say well done and thank you to adults involved in Scouting as well.

Martina collected her wood badge which she completed this year. This award can take up to 3 years to complete. The wood badge symbolises that Martina has completed all of her leader training, this comprises hands-on learning and some classroom sessions. Martina has put in a huge amount of work and has dedicated lots of her time to our troop. Well done and thank you Martina!
As well as her wood badge Martina also completed her nights away permit allowing her to run overnight experiences for our Scouts.

Caroline collected a Chief Scout’s Commendation for Good Service which is given in respect of not less than 5 years good service, which stands out. It should be regarded as the Chief Scout’s recognition of the very real contribution made to the Association by the individual concerned.

Alex collected his 40 years award, dedicating his time for over 40 years to the scouting movement. Like Martina he also collected his wood badge for GSL (Group Scout Leader)

Congratulations to everyone!
