Welcome from our new Group Chairman
Dear Parents, Guardians and Scouts of all ages…
I’m delighted to be introducing myself as the new Group Chairman of the 10th Royal Eltham Scout Group. I grew up with the 10th having previously been a Beaver, Cub, Scout and Venture Scout on Shooters Hill and have recently moved back to “the Village” with my family after 6 years in the Middle East.
I’ve already found the Group to be very professional and well run, with a really dedicated collection of leaders, helpers, parents and supporters. Thanks very much indeed for all of your hard work. Of course, there are always more ways for you to show your support and we are particularly keen to hear about any hidden (or obvious) talents you may have. From electricians to carpenters and book-keepers to van drivers, if you feel you can offer your help, we want to hear from you. Even if it’s a camp fire singalong!
We are in particular need of a Group Treasurer, It’s a really important role, but isn’t nearly as much work as it sounds. If you feel you could help, please let me know – there are a group of people who will support and guide you.
We all give up a little bit of our time for the boys and girls of Shooters Hill and we really need you to help us out if you can. I remain incredibly impressed that there has been Scouting on Shooters Hill for over 80 years and we can all keep that going.
My email address is martinthomashall@gmail.comand you are always welcome to drop me a line with ideas, suggestions and offers of support.
To borrow a phrase – “See you up the Hut”
Best wishes
Martin Hall
